Rev Ken Fitzsimmons - Prayerhub Ministries
NEWS FROM THE PRAYERHUB
It’s been a couple of months since we last sent out a bulletin, and a lot has happened since then. The Wednesday Noon prayer meeting is up and running and another way for folk to join us in prayer in the day time. Our Tuesday evening prayer meeting continues to be blessed by the Spirit’s presence and we have seen many answers to prayer. Individuals and groups have come to the Prayerhub during our daytime opening, and I believe the Lord is working deeply in the lives of several of those folk. As well as a house of prayer, it is becoming a place of healing. More and more names are being added to the prayer wall and now we are laying hands on the wall to pray. So, as it were, we are laying hands on the people whose names are there.
As well as our office landline, we now also have a dedicated mobile number for contacting the Prayerhub. The number is 075 999 85836. It means you should be able to get hold of us outside normal office opening hours. The number is also listed on the website. You can still get hold of me on my mobile number as before.
Jan and I will be away next week (7th to 11th October) at a family wedding, so the hub will not be open during the normal daytime openings, but will be open for the Tuesday evening and Wednesday noon Prayer meetings. We’re back to normal opening week commencing 14th October.
Can I ask you to pray about a couple of particular issues?
Firstly, the Vision team have just started Youth Alpha for young people in the Valley. Please pray for the team, the supporting workers, the speakers and the young people. This work is helping to grow the church of today and bring in the leaders of the church of tomorrow.
Secondly, November 3rd is a day of prayer for the persecuted church. All over the world Christians suffer great persecution for their faith and witness. When they ask for prayer, they often don’t ask to be spared persecution, but for strength to come through. What an example! We are particularly thinking of Syria and the atrocities that have taken place in Pakistan. But persecution is worldwide. Please bring this to your church that we may all join on that Sunday in support of our brothers and sisters. Other events (including opening dates and prayer meetings at the Prayerhub) are listed on the website.
The Lord is calling increasing numbers of people to prayer. Our friends at the Lighthouse at Whitworth are working to make their place a house of prayer and we pray success and blessing for them in their venture. These are exciting times! I hope we see prayer breaking out (and breaking through) all over Rossendale!
Would you also pray that the Lord adds to the Rossendale Prayerhub, volunteers who will help increase the ministry that we offer. We know that folk have commitments to their own churches, and we don’t want to take them away from that. But we are asking God to call those he chooses, to build the Lord’s team, not ours. Please agree this prayer with us.
Please continue to make use of our website, www.prayerhub.org.uk , for information about Prayerhub opening times and events in the ‘Church in Rossendale’ that we are notified of.
Remember, anyone can now subscribe to the bulletin, or unsubscribe, on the Home page at www.prayerhub.org.uk
Thank you for your prayers.
God bless,
Ken
