This week marks a milestone in the life of the Prayerhub. It is 5 years since we moved into the premises at Irwell Terrace and the first meeting began. That was 5 years after we first received the vision for the Prayerhub. At that time all we had was the picture of a wheel, laid out flat, with the axle reaching up to heaven, the source of power and the spokes reaching out all around. A little at a time, the Lord unfolded more and more details to us, first leading us to Rossendale, then to the East of the Valley.
The people who came to that first meeting were mostly people we didn’t know. For them, this was an answer to their prayer for a place in Bacup where people met to pray. It was the Holy Spirit who brought us together and the Holy Spirit who has guided us through the last 5 years.
During that time, we have prayed and worshiped, coming to the ‘hub’, seeking the Lord’s will for us and our land. For me personally, it has been and remains a place of fellowship and unity like I have never known before. We have seen people set free and healed in amazing ways and we have been led out into ministries in places around us, taking what the Lord has given us. There are so many stories and testimonies of healing. Even while writing this letter, I have just received news of answered prayer for an eighteen month old baby we have prayed since his birth. One of our people, Eunice has gone as far as Zimbabwe to bring hope and love to orphans in that land of her birth. There is so much more and it has all been his work and it is all to his glory.
And for us, it is the greatest privilege to be called to serve the King of Kings, to be part of bringing his kingdom to earth.
What next? We do not know the answer to that question, but we do sense strongly that the Lord has much more in store for us. The age of five is when children move onto school and we believe there is a new level of discipleship and opportunity we are to step into after our first five years. Whatever it is, we know that God’s plans are above and beyond out imagining.
‘No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no heart has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him’ 1 Corinthians 2 v9
The Holy Spirit will lead us and reveal his plans to us as we worship and pray.
We want to thank all of you who have supported us along the way, in prayer and financially also. May God richly bless you and cover you with his love, peace and joy.
We ask that you pray with us for Eunice who is following the call of God in Zimbabwe. Any of you who have seen the news recently will have an idea how bad it is in that nation. It is far worse than the media portray. The work Eunice is called to may seem ambitious to us, but our God does nothing by halves. The land is already acquired, a well is being dug. There will be orphan houses for many orphans and a school, a farm which is self-sustaining and work for local people. We have a God who transforms chaos into order, poverty into wealth, sickness into health and brings salvation to the lost. We reported in the last newsletter that it would be possible to donate via the Shekinah Ministries website directly. Because of the dysfunctional banking system in Zimbabwe, this has not been possible. So, if you are prompted by the Lord to support this work financially, please contact us and we will tell you how you can do it. You can still visit the website (www.shekinahministries.net) where an increasing amount of information will come available over the next couple of months about how the project is progressing.
Please also pray for Peter and Stuart from the Aroma Cafe Church in Accrington. They have just arrived for a ten day mission in India. We agree with them to expect healing, miracles and salvation for many. God has done it before and he will do it again! God is good!
It seems fitting to close this letter with Scripture:
Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
Do not quench the Spirit. Do not treat prophecies with contempt but test them all; hold on to what is good, reject every kind of evil.
May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.
